1.        THE CAR

1.1  Any American stock passenger cars, minimum wheelbase of not less than 108” with complete factory steel bodies and tops.

1.2  No firebirds, trucks or SUV types.

1.3  Cars must be factory, stock dealer showroom floor production with no alterations unless specifically stated in these rules.

1.4  Sunroof openings must be covered with 22-gauge steel.

2.        THE BODY

2.1  All body panels must remain completely stock and not gutted, except:

            A.  Dash and dash pads removal for roll bar installation is allowed.

            B.  Front fender wells may be removed.  Inner fender must remain.

            C.  Inner door skins may be removed for cage installation.

            D.  Door hinges must remain intact.

2.2  Optional removal of gauges, wiring and other combustibles.

2.3  All floorboards and front firewalls must be left intact.  Holes covered with metal.

2.4  Removal of exterior moldings, trim, etc required.

2.5  Any sharp protruding objects on/in car or drivers area must be removed.

2.6  No holes allowed in frame or body.

2.7  Doors must be chained or welded shut.

2.8  Hoods must open and close.  No scoops or holes allowed.

2.9  No outside mirrors allowed.

2.10  Stock bumpers in stock location, with no reinforcing, secured with a minimum of two (2) chains.

2.11  Seat must be welded in an upright position.  Racing seats allowed.

2.12  All tail, side light and all glass must be removed except for stock OEM front windshield.  Do not break glass out.  Lexan windshields are recommended.

213  Minimum seven (7) inch ground clearance all and every part of frame, 4 ½” exhaust.

3.        ROLL BARS

3.1  Cars with wheelbase of 114" or greater, roll bars not required. Door bar will be required must be min. ½ X 6 steel going from front fender to rear quarter,

and bolted with min. of (8) ½ bolts and washers.

3.2  May run 4-point cages.

3.3  May run front down bar.  Front down bar must be located between the front firewall and behind the front suspension.

3.4  No rear down bars.

4.        ENGINE

4.1  Must be of American origin. All components as it left the showroom floor.

4.2  Stock manifolds.  No ram horn or truck.  No shorty headers.

4.3  Valve lift not to exceed .450. 350 heads min. of 73cc, 305 min 54cc, 305 heads on 305 block only and 350 heads on 350 block only. No modifications.

May pin studs. No screw in studs or guide plates. 

4.4  Pistons 4 valve relief flat top only. Piston must stay in block .010. Crank and rods must remain stock in every way to OEM. Balancing permitted however

(1) rod and (1) piston must remain unaltered.

4.5  Exhaust system must extend past driver.

4.6  All cars must meet a minimum of 100 dba at one hundred (100”) feet.

4.7  Only carburetor allowed will be Holley 350 # 7448 No modifications allowed, no HP metering blocks or components allowed. 1” spacer allowed must be

metal.

4.8  Cast iron intakes only.  No modifications.  No Z-28 intakes.

5,        COOLING SYSTEM

5.1  Must use factory radiator, fan and fan shroud.

5.2  Cars must have a 1 gallon minimum secured overflow can in engine compartment. 

5.3  No antifreeze allowed, $250 fine.

5.4  No radiator bracing or bars allowed.

6.        ELECTRICAL

6.1  Stock dealer showroom starter / ignition systems: key ignition and kill switch (center of dash).       

6.2  Secure battery behind driver with bolts and brackets.

7.        TRANSMISSIONS and DRIVETRAINS

7.1  Showroom floor stock automatic transmissions and drive train only.

7.2  No Power glides allowed.

7.3  Locking rear ends permitted, must be welded or mini-spool only.

8.        BRAKES

8.1  Factory OEM showroom floor brakes and pedal assembly only.

8.2  All four brakes must work and be functioning.

8.3  Boosters may be removed.

9.        TIRES

9.1  Only DOT 70 or 75 series passenger car tires of same size will be allowed.                          

9.2  No racing tires, no recaps, no exceptions.

10.      STEERING

10.1  All steering components including column must be OEM stock in typical stock arrangement and location, however pop-off steering wheels allowed.

11.      WHEELS

11.1  Steel 7" maximum wheels of same diameter only.

11.2  Oversized lug nuts required on all wheels.

11.3  14”,15" or 16" wheels allowed. All must match on vehicle.

11.4  Steel racing wheel required on right front (recommended on all four (4) corners.)

11.5  Offset – not less than 3” or exceed 4”.

12.      SUSPENSION SYSTEMS

12.1  Suspension must be dealer showroom floor stock except for racing springs and shocks mounted in stock location. 

12.2  No over exaggerated caster or camber. Max. + or - 1".

12.3  No adjustable spring buckets, may be welded buckets. Rusty bolt rule applies – leave it stock!

13.      FUEL and GAS TANKS

13.1  Approved fuel cell only..

13.2  Fuel cell min of 8” clearance may tie frame rail together for fuel cell installation, rear loop must added for protection of fuel cell.

13.3  Station wagons must separate fuel tank from driver compartment by a steel can.               

13.4  Fuel line must exit the gas tank from top only.        

13.5  No fuel lines in the driver’s compartment.                

13.6  The fuel fill must be made by opening the trunk.

13.7  Fuel pump stock for make and model. (EIRI).

14.      SAFETY

14.1  It is required that helmets & belts meet specifications set in Section 7.

14.2  Five point seat belts required.

14.3  Cotton, wool or Nomex fire resistant drivers suit only!           

14.4  Fire extinguisher mounted within arm’s reach of the driver for his/her own protection is mandatory.

15.      WEIGHT

15.1  All ballast weight must be bolted securely to car. All weight must be white with car # clearly printed on lead. No weight will be returned if lost and fine will

be imposed.

15.2  All 2-barrel carburetors 3,200 minimum weight, Max 55% left side.

15.3 Management reserves the right to alter, change or adjust weight limits at their option and add weight to non-conforming cars.

16.      MISCELLANOUS

16.1  First and Second place finishers in feature event will start in rear of field for next appearance.

16.2  All restarts will be double file.
