TOYOTA
PRESENTS RACING LEGENDS in NASHVILLE JULY
18th
Mooresville, NC (January 16, 2008) – The
inaugural season of "Old School Racing" (OSR) will make a stop at
the .596 mile Music City Motorplex (MCM) in Nashville, TN on July
18, 2008 as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of
asphalt racing at the fairgrounds. The inaugural race at the famed
track will be sponsored by Toyota and will feature such legends as David
Pearson, Harry Gant, Geoffrey Bodine, Dave Marcis, James Hylton,
Dick Trickle and Joe Ruttman.
A total of fifteen racing legends have signed up to be a part
of this historic event.
It’s an honor to be part of something as big as 50 years of paved
racing at the Music City Motorplex,” said OSR Managing partner Norm
Weaver. “The history at this track is well documented and now not
only are we going to be part of it but hopefully add to it.”
“This weekend is not only huge for the MCM but also Old School
Racing,” added Weaver.
“This is the one race that is not on the same weekend as a top tier
NASCAR race and we will be able to show the fans just how big Old
School Racing is going to be.”
A number of these racing legends participating on Friday will also
be on hand on Saturday, July 19th to be a part of the 50th
anniversary celebration.
In addition to the NASCAR Camping Worlds Series 150 (formerly
NASCAR Busch Grand National East), Saturday’s event will include
events for a number the Motorplex's local NASCAR divisions.
Race fans can save by purchasing a two day ticket in advance, good
for grandstand admission for both July 18th and 19th for only $25.
Tickets for Friday only or Saturday only are priced at $15 in
advance and $20 at the gate and are available via Ticket Master or
by calling 615-726-1818.
